SOLID COMMUNICATION: LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION

When you pray, do not be as those who pretend to be someone they are not. They love to stand and pray in the places of worship or in the streets so people can see them. For sure, I tell you, they have all the reward they are going to get. When you pray, go into a room by yourself. After you have shut the door, pray to your Father Who is in secret. Then your Father Who sees in secret will reward you. (Matthew 5:5-6)

In the original version of Superman in the pictured scene when Clark Kent sensed that danger was near, he'd look for a phone booth, a secluded space where he could close the door and change into Superman.  Never did he peel back his mild mannered shell in public, he needed a private place to become what it was that He was under that facade.   This past weekend we began telling you about Jesus during this time of the Sermon on the Mount was challenging us to deepen our relationship with the Father.  Last week, on Father's Day he wanted to encourage you to develop secret moments with the Father where you'd give seeking only His approval.

This week want to encourage to have secret moments of conversation with the Father, that's right prayer and just like in real estate, location is everything.   Many of you believe you can pray anywhere at anytime, and that's partially true.   Surely driving past a accident you can simply say GOD please bless.  Or while standing in line and you hear folks complaining you ask that God's Spirit would bring peace to the situation, or ..........you catch my drift.  But Jesus, isn't talking about those times of prayer.  He actually commands that we get a room, close the door, and speak candidly with the Father about .........

See the hypocrites prayed in public simply for vainglory, and this was simply perverting the purpose of what was supposed to be intimate time with our Father.   Not a stage to show How Long, How Loud, or How spiritual you could be with the Father....cause in doing it this way they were trying to impress their audiences.  If you are alone with the Father, you have NO ONE to impress.  It's simplified to a real & intimate conversation with Your Father.

Jesus then tells them after you have went into the room, closed the door, and prayed......your Father will reward you.  It's funny how even Jesus understands that our minds gravitate to " What's in it for me....." even when it comes to spending time with the Father.  Well what's in it for you is:

Being equipped to face what's outside the room.
Developing a deeper understanding of the Father.
Having more of the Father in you.

Folks this is a spiritual warfare we are in, and if Art truly imitates life.....well Batman, Superman and so many others realized that the war they are fighting they need to have a place (phone booths, Bat Caves,  The Fortress of Solitude (where Superman met with His father) where they could be real, and meet with their father to recieve the encouragement needed to be winners in this war for our souls, and the souls of others too!

So I hope that today you would find a room, close the door, and share with the Father your heart for the world around you, and that He'd share with you His heart for not just the world around you, but His purpose for you in that world to make Him famous through your actions.  Have a blessed day!   LGLP
