37 But soon a fierce storm came up. High waves were breaking into the boat, and it began to fill with water.
38 Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?”
39 When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind .....Mark 4:37-39a
Ok, so let's slow this down. Jesus is asleep, while a fierce storm is on them. They are at sea, and the aves were breaking into the boat (in other words the boat was not just being reeled by the wind and waves, but it was taken on water too) and may I say again Jesus was sleeping with his head on a homemade pillow?!?!?!?!!?!?!
Hey folks I don't know what you are going through, whether it's the lights or gas being turned off. Maybe it's foreclosure or lost of job. Maybe it's realization that your innocence has been lost because of pornography/fornication. Maybe you are being haunted by poor decisions. Maybe you realize depression is crouching at the door of your heart and you can't take it anymore........whatever it is....He wasn't moved by what was going on outside the boat, nor the physicality of the water in the boat.....but what GOT His attention was when His brothers, His friends, His disciples, His followers CRIED OUT IN FEAR & PANIC.
Now I'm not suggesting you live your life in fear & panic to get JESUS' attention, but what I am saying is that you do need to recognize when you are in the midst of a storm that HE's with you, and if you are unsure of His presence, His care for you to simply cry out, and be comforted by His still small voice saying to you in supreme authority (& your situation) PEACE, BE STILL. See while He rebuked the WINDS & WAVES, I honestly believe we too can rest in this scripture Psalms 46:10 to be still and know that HE (JESUS on the ship) is GOD! FOCUS on remaining loving to others during even your storms, and trust CHRIST IS NEAR! LGLP
