So yesterday the Rich Young, Tycoon of a ruler.....the guy you aspire your sons to be, and your daughters to marry have made his case before Christ to say....I kept all those commandments. And Jesus says there is one thing you still have yet to do........sell all your possessions, give the money to the poor, .........then come follow me. SAY WHAT? SELL WHAT? GIVE THE MONIES MADE TO WHO? Wait wait wait Jesus....you didn't ask Nicodemus or Zacchaeus to do that? Why you sweatin' my stuff? Why can't I have my ____________________ and you too, Jesus? (my emphasis on how it may have went down) Ok so you've showed and (tell) told Jesus how good you were in _________________ and how you don't commit ___________________ and then He says to you.....?????? HOLD UP DO WHAT? Yes.....He's calling out that one thing!
I don't need to spend a lot of Kb or Mb asking you what is it that takes priority over JESUS. You already know what that ONE THING or THINGS are. You know...it's the excuse....that's right, I said excuse you give for not being in a small group or Bible Study with others. It's the excuse why some Sunday's rest is more important. It's the reason why you have YET to sign up for a domestic or foreign mission trip. There is a reason why He wants you to sell it.....because He wants to proceeds to bless those in need, and that He gets the GLORY, vs you getting the money and keeping it for yourself to rebuild what you lost. SO SIMPLY PUT.....the Rich Young Ruler stuff owned him...what is it' that owns you, your time, your talent....your daily devotion? BTW before you try to insinuate your jobs......instead quitting it.....seek how you can GLORIFY GOD on it, and through it since He blessed you after all with the job! LGLP
