MIRACULOUS VICTORY: DEMONS? WHAT ABOUT THEM?

This man lived among the burial caves and could no longer be restrained, even with a chain. Whenever he was put into chains and shackles—as he often was—he snapped the chains from his wrists and smashed the shackles. No one was strong enough to subdue him. Day and night he wandered among the burial caves and in the hills, howling and cutting himself with sharp stones.  Mark 5:4-5

So yesterday we found Jesus before a man that had been put away because he was a threat to society due to being demonically possessed.  Whether you want to believe it or not, demons are real.  Well beyond the credits of your pop-culture scary movie.....folks this is really art (if you want to call it that) imitating REAL LIFE.  As in the movie the Exorcist, The Omen, and can list more.......there are tell tale signs of demonic possessions that are featured in this scriptural verses:

1.  They are supernatural beings.    THEY ARE OF THE SPIRIT WORLD.  RARELY will one physically manifest itself....so they NEED A BODY (think of the serial killers of our day.)

2.  They have supernatural strength. Remember this man couldn't be restrained.  He broke free often.  In the movies you see they are able to do things unimaginable.

3. Their purpose is to steal, kill and destroy.   You see how this man cuts himself...self mutilation.  They seek to steal our joy, kill our testimony, and destroy our lives (professionally, socially, emotionally, spiritually) Their ultimate goal is to eliminate us.

As you read scripture (Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 24) you discover Satan, Lucifer, the Prince of the Power of the Air, the ruler of this world is REAL.  Those who haven't given their lives to Christ are candidates for demonic possession.

Christians, on the other hand are not....because they have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ.  Now while I say that....it doesn't mean that a Christian cannot be influenced, encouraged by them....they attempt to bait us with our own carnal desires.  This is how some "good" people end up doing "bad" things.

So what do we need to do: Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. 1Peter 5:8-9

and

13 Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place]. Eph. 6:13 (AMP)  LGLP
